  • Implementation must be carefully planned, and carried out in correct order.
    • I.e. Hardware must be fully in before software.

Acquiring information technology and making it operational

in order to make the system operational, relevant information technology must be acquired; this includes:

Hardware

• Network cabling must be installed (topologies, LAN)
• Needed new hardware is bought, installed and configured (servers, switches)
• Participants are trained to use hardware

Software, customised or developed

• New software is installed to system’s needs.
• Old data is converted/formatted/transferred for/to new system (The conversion methods)
• Participants are trained to use software

Implementation plan that details:

3. System testing
4. Conversion of data for new system
